Color in Black and White

This work is part of a series titled "Color In Black and White (Trans_Lucent #3)".

I use my cameras to record whatever catches my eye.  After three, four, or more months, I go over the images I have been working with and on. So I can try to see what the theme of the past months of my life have been.

 “I always work in color.”

“Not true. Look at the images in this series. Nothing but black and white.”

“Yes, but I still taste the colors underneath.”

Our lives don’t make sense to anyone but ourselves.

As life happens to us all, we all face various challenges. As a photographer one of my challenges is that I am blessed with a condition known as Aphantasia. Merriam Webster defines Aphantasia as: “the inability to form mental images of real or imaginary people, places, or things.”

I believe that the result of this is that my other senses inform my photography. As I say above: “ I still taste the colors underneath.”
