Early Spring

It has been a truly slow start to spring here in the Northeast. A friend told me it was 80 in Chicago yesterday when it was 60 in NYC and 48 in Wellfleet. The invasion of Ukraine and the continued success of the destructive and hateful oligarchic fascist American right wing continues to dominate my thoughts. Two sides of the same coin.

However personal journeys continue. I have been hired (for the 5th year in a row) to teach at “The Summer Academy of the New York Times” which is a program (based at Fordham’s Lincoln Center campus,) for rising 10th through 12th grade students from around the country and the world. I will be teaching 3 units between 6/20 and 7/29. Each unit is 9 days long. I will be working with the brilliant Pulitzer Prize winning photographer ( and my good friend) Ángel Franco on two units of “Photojournalism As Art” and then teaching with 3 content experts including my friend and great dance photographer, Erin Baiano, a survey course called "“Fashion; Photography; Film.”
I always love working with these kids. They are motivated and enthusiastic and just a joy to spend time with exploring the neighborhoods of New York City and the craft of photojournalism.

I also have placed an image in the PH21 Gallery show in Barcelona. The image title is “Showdown” The show opens in late May.
My image is still up at PAAM through May 7,
And the Small Works show will open May 5 at the SouthxSoutheast Gallery.

I hope all your springs are going well and you are looking forward to a great May.
If I may make a request? If you feel the website is worthwhile would you invite friends to visit and perhaps get on the mailing list?

Take care. Be well and stay safe.
